BMW 5 Series (G30)

The BMW 5 Series (codenamed G30) is the current (commencing with model year 2017) lineup of executive cars by German automaker BMW that succeeded the F10-codenamed 5 Series as the seventh model generation. It will be offered as a saloon (4-door sedan) and as a Touring branded estate (5-door station wagon) (codenamed G31) that will not be available in the United States. The new generation 5 Series will not feature a hatchback style GT. The new generation hatchback style GT variant will be known as 6 Series GT (codenamed G32).
The G30 5 Series was officially unveiled in October 2016,[3] and officially launched in February 2017.[4]
The G30 is based on a modular automobile platform upon which the full-size G11 BMW 7 Series luxury car is also built. A plug-in hybrid variant, the BMW 530e iPerformance, for the saloon and estate body styles and a range of autonomous advanced driver assistance systems that debuted in the 7 Series are also planned for release.[5]
